Hue Love

Hello everyone!! Today I'm here to review 4 liquid lipsticks. If anyone knows me I am a cosmetic enthusiast. My favorite products to try are eyeshadows and lip products, so I was very interested to see some new liquid lipsticks! Hue Love is a brand made right here in Sandston, VA!!! I must say that this made me even more curious since it is local and a smaller business. I like being able to try new items from smaller brands since they aren't widely covered in social media. Sometimes there are some hidden gems to be found but we'd never know because it can be hard to get your name known in a highly saturated beauty world.

Hue Love, owned and ran by Frances Gardner,  is a Christian black owned cosmetic company that is geared towards African American women.  The site is fairly easy to navigate and gives lip swatches of each color available. If you have any questions or concerns she responds very quickly.

As I mentioned before I was definitely interested to try some new lippies. More so to see what makes them so different from other brands available.

Let's jump right in!

I received my order very quickly. It was in a padded mailer to protect the contents.

The colors that are currently available for purchase are The Darker the Berry, Cornerstone, Melanin Rich and Reddest Rose. These liquid lipsticks are .6fl oz and come in a sleek clear tube with a gold top. The only downfall of the packaging is the labeling. They did pop off once i took them out of the package. However, that did NOT stop me from swatching everything. She also notified me that she is working on a new labeling system that possibly involves etching. Below you can see the ingredients. I must admit that I am very happy to see that Hue is producing natural products. That's not it! You can get these for only $5. For the most part, I've noticed that natural products tend to be on the more expensive side so I'm excited to see what else she will be bringing to the table.

I noticed that the lipsticks do not dry down to a matte finish, which I am content with. I am guessing it's due to the moisturizing shea butter that is infused. Because it is not matte the product will transfer. However, even with transfer there is no loss in pigmentation on the lips. They are long lasting, smooth and easy to apply. A plus for me is that they do not travel outside my lip lines!

On to the swatches!                                                                                                                           I've decided to include lip swatches instead of on the hand to get a realistic view. Below is a picture of my natural lip color. All swatches were taken in natural light and with flash.

Cornerstone is described as a brick red

July Play! by Sephora box

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I've last posted anything. Life has been busy! Today I'm here to chat about the Play by Sephora box. If you've been tuned in to YouTube, like I have you've probably heard about it a few months ago. When it was 1st launched you had to sign up and patiently hope that you could be picked to receive it. It is a beauty subscription box that's just $10! I'm frugal so I like a good deal. In the box each month you receive 5 deluxe size samples plus a fragrance. This is a pretty good idea for anyone who may be considering taking a stroll on the high end beauty side. I prefer drugstore for some items but it's nice to be able to try before fully committing to something more expensive. Now it's time to share this month's box!

Each box comes taped securely. Let's look inside!

Each box has come with a nice cotton drawstring bag that you can store everything in. Perfect for on the go! I love the bright popsicle and lips that makes me think of summer.

Next up is Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer in medium/deep. I've always wanted to try this since I've heard about it everywhere but couldn't bring myself to pay the money for it. It's a pretty small sample that fits into my hand, but I can't see me running out of it anytime soon. If you're wondering....yes, it smells like chocolate!!

Ouai (pronounced "way") is a pretty new brand carried at Sephora so I was surprised to see it in this box. This is a decent size wave spray at 1.7 oz.

First Aid Beauty is another popular brand I've seen on YouTube. I all about natural skincare so this intrigued me. I have sensitive skin so I'm interested in seeing how this cleanser works.

Nest is a line that I've seen at stores like Marshall's and TJ Maxx. I've only seen them sell candles so it caught me off guard to see a perfume by the same company

There are so many pore minimizers out there and I am most excited to see a primer included in this month's box. I haven't heard anyone discussing this particular primer lately. But for someone who has noticeable pores I'm excited to give this a try.

Last but not least is the blotterazzi by the beauty blender. I'm particularly curious about the claims of this sponge. I get a little oily in my t-zone and this may be helpful. It came with a liquid blendercleanser.

Every box comes with a Play! Pass that you can use in store to get extra insider points with a purchase along with expert advice! I've also shared pictures of the booklet that came inside.

For $10 I think I scored some good deals with this box. The only item I'm not interested in is the fragrance. I will be trying the other products in the coming weeks so stay tuned for my thoughts!!! God bless and see you soon!
