Hue Love

Hello everyone!! Today I'm here to review 4 liquid lipsticks. If anyone knows me I am a cosmetic enthusiast. My favorite products to try are eyeshadows and lip products, so I was very interested to see some new liquid lipsticks! Hue Love is a brand made right here in Sandston, VA!!! I must say that this made me even more curious since it is local and a smaller business. I like being able to try new items from smaller brands since they aren't widely covered in social media. Sometimes there are some hidden gems to be found but we'd never know because it can be hard to get your name known in a highly saturated beauty world.

Hue Love, owned and ran by Frances Gardner,  is a Christian black owned cosmetic company that is geared towards African American women.  The site is fairly easy to navigate and gives lip swatches of each color available. If you have any questions or concerns she responds very quickly.

As I mentioned before I was definitely interested to try some new lippies. More so to see what makes them so different from other brands available.

Let's jump right in!

I received my order very quickly. It was in a padded mailer to protect the contents.

The colors that are currently available for purchase are The Darker the Berry, Cornerstone, Melanin Rich and Reddest Rose. These liquid lipsticks are .6fl oz and come in a sleek clear tube with a gold top. The only downfall of the packaging is the labeling. They did pop off once i took them out of the package. However, that did NOT stop me from swatching everything. She also notified me that she is working on a new labeling system that possibly involves etching. Below you can see the ingredients. I must admit that I am very happy to see that Hue is producing natural products. That's not it! You can get these for only $5. For the most part, I've noticed that natural products tend to be on the more expensive side so I'm excited to see what else she will be bringing to the table.

I noticed that the lipsticks do not dry down to a matte finish, which I am content with. I am guessing it's due to the moisturizing shea butter that is infused. Because it is not matte the product will transfer. However, even with transfer there is no loss in pigmentation on the lips. They are long lasting, smooth and easy to apply. A plus for me is that they do not travel outside my lip lines!

On to the swatches!                                                                                                                           I've decided to include lip swatches instead of on the hand to get a realistic view. Below is a picture of my natural lip color. All swatches were taken in natural light and with flash.

Cornerstone is described as a brick red
