Hello everyone! I'm back to share a thrift haul. I love thrifting because it gives me an opportunity to try different styles without paying retail price. I can take something that would normally be considered "ugly" or oversized and make it my own. I purchased all of these pieces from local thrift stores. Hopefully this gives you a look into my style, which I'm not sure is really defined LOL! This specific day I didn't go with any items in mind other than getting some fall/winter clothes, but if you've been thrifting, you know that you will find more than what you're looking for. When I shop I tend to look at what ever catches my eye.
I love finding cardigans at the thrift store. Ones that actually fit me. This is a tan and black Forever 21 cardigan for only $1.98 This is great for transitioning from summer to fall and also for a mild winter (which we sometimes have in Virginia).
This is a simple black 3/4 sleeve shirt. Sequins done right! A shirt like this is perfect for Christmas and the holidays
Black and white A line blazer. A fun part of this blazer is that it will unzip from the bottom or top.
Another 3/4 top. I love the lace detailing and of course it's my favorite color
Ok ok...i know this isn't winter material but remember what I said about thrifting. Hahaha. The ruffles is what caught my eye.
$4.98 for some American Eagle jeans?! Ummm yes and thank you!!! This fit me perfectly
I also picked up a few things for my nephew for .25 each!!
Sorry for the blurriness of the photo I was trying to capture the burgundy color. This American Eagle shirt was $2
Simple blue sweater for $3
Love this one. It's simple with a little sparkle. I believe it was $3
Classic black short sleeve sweater
Not sure if this shirt is for a man or woman but it's pretty cool. It's reversible!! I plan on wearing this as a tunic/dress with leggings. I probably won't have to do any alterations. (may take off the pocket) Just add a belt and go!
Another Forever 21 find for only $4. The white sections are lacey!
Now....I'm little petite thing but this actually fits pretty nice on me. My rule...when it's too wide try it with a belt. This was marked down to $2.50
Another perfect holiday fit. Look at the shimmery threading. My sister hated this one because of the spheres but I think it adds character :) For $3 I couldn't pass it up!
At first I thought this was a bit above my age bracket hehe but then I thought about pairing it with some boots for the winter with a fitted top tucked in....yehhhh. This was supposed to be $6 but I was able to get it for $3
Nope...it's not summer but I still bought it. This will be nice and airy for the hot days. I was able to get a discount $3 since the waist was coming apart in some areas. That will be an easy repair.
Don't think I need to speak on this one! $3
This belt is resized by pulling on the 2 loops. Perfect for one of my oversized sweaters
I bought these as a group all for $6. That may seem like a lot, but the necklace was priced at $6 alone. The scissors is a brooch that i plan on using in my hair and/or as a necklace
The ring really caught my eye. It's a nail encrusted with gems!
Well everyone, that's it for today. I hope to be back to show you how I style some of the clothes.
(sorry for the graniness)
Peachy nude
So for a while I have been struggling with my weight. Health issues cause me to fluctuate in my weight. Just because I'm petite doesn't mean that all clothes fit me correctly. I'm 5'1 so most things are long and I find that if anyone has curves, clothes will fit a little weird (without alterations of some sort). All of that to say that I was reluctant to post any outfit pictures. However, here I am to share. I just wanted to share that we are able to dress cute on a budget. I don't shop in the mall for clothing. I'm more of a thrifting chick and I love it! This outfit is something that I wore to work. Everything in the picture is thrifted except for my shoes, camisole and fitbit (of course!). The gray slacks are high waisted and cost me about $7 and I didn't have to hem them! Praise baby Jesus! The cardigan was no more than $5. So....even at the thrift store I won't pay over certain amounts for items.
Camisole: Forever 21 $2.90; Necklace $2 (thrifted), Nude Dexflex flats: Payless $8 (on sale)
If you all have any questions about my outfit or thrifting, feel free to ask!
